Ricky Ryan Biography

Anyone with even a passing interest in house music will either know of Ricky Ryan or should make a point of getting on board pronto. Ricky’s profile has grown substantially over the years, garnering the attention and being mentored by the likes of Sasha and John Digweed.

It’s not often that you come across a really outstanding DJ combining oodles of talent with a livewire personality, but Ricky Ryan is just that. In fact, there’s a major movement going on in Argentina and Ricky is one of the leaders.

His success is exemplified by being chosen as a featured artist on John Digweedís ëTransitionsí show and his debut on Proton Radio set a record of 1,000 simultaneous listeners, with rave reviews from Sander Kleinenberg, Danny Howells and Desyn Masiello. Rickyís toured extensively worldwide, including gigs at the Winter Music Conference in Miami and a sought after residency at the spectacular Warung Beach Club in Brazil.

His sound is distinguished by a broad variety of musical styles, from beautiful warm house and deep techno to pumping dance floor anthems. Itís difficult to categorize him within one particular genre, as Ricky truly has established his own sound, always guiding the listener through a magical soundscape through his silky smooth mixing and impeccable programming.

Along with being one of the world’s hottest up-and-coming DJs, Ricky Ryan is just as well respected for his remixes and productions under the Can Costa moniker. His dedication to showcasing only the highest quality instrumental talent has influenced his production, where in just a small number of years he has risen towards the top of the digital charts with a multitude of original tracks and commissioned remixes, while establishing a highly successful label of his own, Sick Watona.

Aside from the music, Ricky’s genuinely likable and approachable character is a breath of fresh air. His passion and enthusiasm has helped him forge some terrific friendships and this network is a key reason why he can tap into an abundance of exclusive goodies.

From DJing and producing to playing guitar, piano and vocals, Ricky seems to have it all. The stage is set; Ricky Ryan is quickly becoming one of the world’s leading underground music acts.

“I love your music Ricky, you do a great job” – QUENTIN TARANTINO

GenXGlow.com is pleased to announce their first radio resident, Miss Nine.

Biography Miss Nine

Amsterdam Miss Nine was born in Germany as Kristin Schrot and at the age of 16, she started her career not as a DJ, but as a model. Shortly thereafter, she secured a worldwide contract with Elite Model Management. After moving to Amsterdam, she discovered the art of DJing and her passion for music eventually led her become a DJ as well.

In 2003, only a few months after touching the decks for the first time, she became a resident DJ at the legendary Motion parties where she evolved as an artist and DJ while playing alongside masters such as John Digweed, Dave Seaman, Nick Warren, and James Zabiela.

2003 was also the year that Miss Nine took to the decks as the youngest artist at the 10th edition of Dance Valley (renowned Dutch Dance Festival). At the end of 2005, Miss Nine was then asked by Grammy Award winning DJ duo, Deep Dish to join Bullitt Bookings, the reputable agency of A-list DJs. This allowed Miss Nine to enter the forefront of the international DJ scene for the first time.

925 Digital In 2008, Miss Nine started her own record label called 925 Digital. Having spent so much time in the dance scene, she realized that there were too many excellent progressive-house tracks that didn?t get the release and the attention that they deserved. 925 Digital was created in order to ensure that this didn?t happen and bring progressive house, and the artists behind it, to prominence.

Miss Nine performs all around the globe, spinning at clubs such as Privilege in Ibiza, Avalon in Los Angeles, Warung in Brazil, the Ministry of Sound in London and several Pacha’s around the world. She has also graced the main stage of the Ultra Music Festival in Miami, joining a line-up of, among others, Tiesto and David Guetta.

Discography Miss Nine was the first female DJ to mix a compilation for Washington-based Yoshitoshi Recordings, the world-renowned leader in progressive and big-room house music. The highly anticipated Yoshitoshi Ibiza: Mixed by Miss Nine (YRCDLP15) was released in September 2006 and made it to the number 1 spot on iTunes in the United States. In June of 2008 Miss Nine also released an album on the world famous Armada label: Dancefloor Sessions (ARMA134). Her latest release was in 2010: Fantasia, which is available for purchase in Asia.

Nine Sessions Nine Sessions is Miss Nine’s monthly radio show which is broadcasted in more than 35 countries, including DI.fm, Proton, GenXGlow.fm, Frisky and Dance Paradise. Since January 2011, Nine Sessions is also available as a podcast on iTunes. During this one-hour show, Miss Nine shares her favorite tracks of the moment with her listeners.

Campaigns In 2010, Miss Nine became the ambassador of the revolutionary Levi’s’ Curve ID line. To draw even more attention to this new line, she mixed the compilation album Levi’s’ Curve ID. In addition to spinning at numerous events, which are actively being promoted in Europe and Asia, Miss Nine also hosted Levi’s’ presents Miss Nine in the supperclub during the Amsterdam Dance Event in October of 2010.

Miss Nine is also now the face of Pioneer for their new Pioneer 350 series, turntables that are meant for amateur DJs. As part of a European-wide promotional campaign, video clips in which Miss Nine is demonstrating these turntables are being televised on MTV.

She will be touring worldwide in 2011, so make sure to check www.miss-nine.com and catch the queen of the decks at a venue near you!

As a whole, GenXGlow has exponentially grown at an alarming rate over the course of three years. And with the start of GXG DNB Radio, it can only get bigger.

In response to a rising notoriety, the Electronic Music Community site, www.genxglow.com, has unveiled a new way to experience drum and bass. GenxGlow Radio is unlike most of its competitors, in that it brings both local and huge hitting talent to the comfort of your own home. Instead of waiting for your favorite deejay to release another podcast, GXG provides a constant streaming of auditory sensations. The site is enhanced by its own chatroom, branding, and station calendar, in multiple time zones. Users can listen in to the station with iTunes, Windows Media Player, QuickTime, Real Player, or Winamp. And starting Saturday, March 20th, expect your speakers to be all the way, turned up. The official launching of the DNB station with Konkrete Jungle and M.I.A. is sure to lift you on a flight through unknown territories of bass!

About Konkrete Jungle
Konkrete Jungle is the world’s longest consistently running weekly Jungle Drum and Bass event. Since 1994, Konkrete Jungle has paved the way for NYC’s Jungle community through their events every Monday, and the legendary “one-off’s” that have featured great talent both overseas, and stateside (Dara and Odi). Due to the on set of former Mayor Rudy Guiliani’s “Quality Of Life” Campaign in the late 90′s, clubs in the city found it hard to operate; some found it even hard to own. And so, Konkrete Jungle took a nomadic approach, opening branches every where they could. You can now find weeklies in most of the large cities in the US (more are being added every week), and some worldwide.

About Murda In America
M.I.A. (Murda In America) is a drum and bass crew with over 25 deejays across the United States. Founders Alfonz De La Mota and M1D1 (Combat Records) began M.I.A. mid 2006 due to the deficiency of a prominent DNB scene in Chicago. The city also lacked a solid clubs and raves and dedicated to the harder drum and bass sounds. But now, you can catch them both partaking in Konkrete Jungle Chicago events, and Alfonz also holds a residency at Chicago’s famed underground hotspot, Smart bar for “Big Bass Thursdays” a weekly low end frequency dance music night.

About GenXGlow.fm
As an up and coming radio network, GenXGlow.fm is gaining serious momentum and support. Comprised of six separate stations, GenXGlow.fm provides continuous electronic dance music 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Tune in and hear the latest releases, biggest mixes, and live shows across our breakbeat, drum and bass, dubstep, hard dance, house, and trance stations. Visit www.genxglow.fm
